Glossary
Terms used across InfluDM and these docs.
Account switcher
The control in the dashboard and flows header that chooses which connected Instagram account you're looking at. See Instagram Accounts.
Admin
A workspace role that can do everything except touch the owner. See Roles & Permissions.
AI credits
The prepaid balance the AI features run on. Reading one message or comment costs a credit or two. The balance can never go negative — when it runs out, the AI stops reading until you top up. See AI Billing & Usage.
AI features
The two assistants that read what arrives on your account: Collab Detection and Comment Moderation. Both are off by default and run on AI credits.
Ask-to-follow gate
The first response step, when a flow uses one: it pauses everything until Instagram confirms the person follows the connected account. Sent with a Visit profile button and a confirm button. See Response Steps.
Brand Collabs
The page where Collab Detection files the DMs it identifies as brand collaboration offers, with the brand, the offer and your notes on each one.
Card message
A response step made of an image, a title, a subtitle and up to three link buttons.
Classification
The kind a comment is judged to be by Comment Moderation — Spam, Slurs / Abuse, Negative, Criticism or Neutral. You choose which classifications get deleted.
Contact
Anyone who has interacted with one of your flows. One row per person per Instagram account. See Contacts.
Contact allowance
The plan quota that limits how many distinct people your flows may reach. The count only ever goes up — it never decreases. See Plans, Quotas & Limits.
Flow
One automation: a trigger, an opening message and an ordered list of response steps. See Flows.
Follow-up
A single reminder sent to someone who tapped your opening message and then stalled at a gate. See Follow-ups.
Gate
A response step that pauses the flow until the person does something — the ask-to-follow step and the lead form step.
Gift code
A single-use code that grants a plan without payment. See Billing & Plans.
Keyword
A word or phrase that must appear in the comment or message for the flow to fire. Matching ignores capitalisation. An empty list matches everything. See Triggers & Keywords.
Lead
A completed lead-form submission. See Leads.
Lead form
A reusable list of questions, authored in Settings and attached to flows. See Lead Forms.
Member
A read-only workspace role. Sees every contact and lead but can't change anything.
Messaging window
The 24 hours after someone messages your account, during which the business may send freely. See Instagram's Messaging Rules.
Moderation log
The month of history kept by Comment Moderation: each comment, its classification, and whether it was deleted or only logged. Neutral comments are never recorded.
Opening message
The first DM plus its button — the single private reply Instagram allows per comment. See Opening Message.
Owner
The user who created the workspace. Can't be removed or demoted.
Paused account
A connected Instagram account whose automation is switched off because the plan no longer covers it. Its data survives. See Instagram Accounts.
Private reply
Instagram's term for a direct message sent in response to a comment. Exactly one is allowed per comment.
Proration
Charging only for the days left in the current period when accounts are added mid-plan.
Public comment reply
A visible reply posted under the triggering comment, chosen at random from your list. Available on the post/reel trigger.
Quick reply
A tappable button attached to a message. Used for the opening message call-to-action and for lead-form Skip and prefill chips.
Quota
A numeric plan limit — Instagram accounts and contacts. No value means unlimited.
Referral
Someone who signed up through your invite link. See Refer & Earn.
Response step
One message (or gate) in a flow's sequence. See Response Steps.
Trigger
The Instagram event that starts a flow: a comment on a post or reel, a DM, a live comment, or a story reply.
Workspace
Your tenant inside InfluDM. Owns Instagram accounts, flows, contacts, leads and billing. One per user. See Workspace & Team.
