What is InfluDM?

InfluDM is an Instagram comment-to-DM automation platform for creators, coaches and brands running a Business or Creator account. These are the docs — the product itself, with pricing and a feature tour, is at infludm.com. It answers one very practical problem:

Hundreds of people comment "LINK" under my reel. How do I get the link into every one of their inboxes — without typing it a hundred times?

You build a flow: a trigger ("someone comments link on this reel"), an opening message with a button, and a sequence of replies that plays out in the Instagram DM thread. InfluDM listens around the clock, matches the keyword, and runs the flow.

Who it's for

  • Creators who post a reel and promise a freebie, discount, or link in the comments.
  • Coaches and course sellers who want to qualify people and capture an email before sending the offer.
  • Brands and agencies running several Instagram accounts from one workspace, with teammates who need visibility but not edit rights.

What you can do

AreaWhat it gives you
TriggersReact to comments on a post/reel, DMs containing a keyword, comments on a live, or story replies.
KeywordsMatch on the words or phrases you choose, or fire on every event.
Public comment repliesPost a real reply under the comment (rotated at random from your list) so the thread looks human.
Opening messageThe one private reply Instagram allows per comment, with a tappable call-to-action button.
Response stepsBuild a sequence: text, rich cards, images, an ask-to-follow gate, or a lead form.
Ask to followA first step that holds the flow until Instagram confirms the person follows you.
Lead formsAsk a saved list of questions in the DM and store every answer.
Follow-upsOne nudge to people who tapped your opener but stalled at a gate.
ContactsEveryone who has ever interacted with a flow, with follow relationship where Instagram allows it.
LeadsEvery completed lead-form submission, filterable and exportable to CSV.
AI collab detectionReads your incoming DMs and files the ones that are a brand offering a collaboration.
AI comment moderationSorts every incoming comment and deletes the spam and abuse you've chosen to remove.
Team & billingOne workspace per user, admin/member roles, plans priced per Instagram account.

Everything in that table works on the free plan. Paid plans raise the limits — more Instagram accounts, more contacts, more AI credits — rather than unlocking features.

The two halves

It helps to think of InfluDM as two things that work side by side.

Flows are the part you build. You decide what to watch for and what to send: a keyword on a reel, an opening message, a sequence of replies. Precise, and entirely under your control.

The AI is the part that watches everything else. You don't configure keywords for it. It reads the DMs and comments your flows aren't handling and acts on two questions — is this a brand offering me a deal? and does this comment need to go? See AI Features.

They never fight over the same message. Anything a flow is already handling never reaches the AI, so you're never charged for your own automation talking to itself.

How an automation plays out

The comment path — by far the most common — looks like this:

Someone comments "LINK" on your reel
        │
        ▼
InfluDM posts a public reply ← "Sent! Check your DMs 💌"
        │
        ▼
InfluDM sends the opening message ← the ONE private reply Instagram allows,
with a button: "Send me the link" with a tappable quick-reply button
        │
        ▼
They tap the button ──────────────► the 24-hour messaging window opens
        │
        ▼
Your response flow runs: ask to follow → text → image → lead form → link card

The critical detail is the gate in the middle. Instagram lets a business send exactly one unsolicited private reply per comment. Everything after that requires the person to interact first. How a Flow Runs explains the whole state machine, and Instagram's Messaging Rules explains why it works this way.

What you need

  • An Instagram Business or Creator account (personal accounts can't be automated).
  • Permission to grant InfluDM access to messages and comments during the connect step.
  • Nothing else. There is no code, no pixel, and no Facebook Page setup.
